Friday Quilt Finishes

"Those who sleep under a quilt sleep under a blanket of love."  -  Author unknown

This is link up day with Thank Goodness Its Finished Friday and crazymom quilts so here is some eye candy of my latest finishes:

Black & White Delight
This is the quilted finish for the Black and White Delight BOMs that I have been doing this whole year. Phew! I have definitely decided NOT to do a 12 month program again. Most BOMs have previous years' blocks that you can access all at once. If I do a sampler quilt again, I will do it that way. These blocks are easy to assemble and the instructions are really clear. You can find them here along with previous years. You need to click on the For Members button.

I quilted this with a grid of wavy lines that has become my new favorite motif.
Back
This picture doesn't show the lines well, but the back does. I will be gifting this to a dear friend who is having serious health issues. Hopefully it will cheer her.
Quilting lines
The backing is a fleece panel. I did not use batting so that it would be an extra light quilt, use able year 'round.  I also did not put on a border as I was fitting the top to the fleece panel.
This quilting motif  came from Quiltmaker magazine's pattern for Super Nine Patch quilts. I am doing several of these for LLUMC as usual.
Donation quilts

The first day of Winter is coming up this week here in the Northern climes. Today it was snowing in our nearby mountains and I could watch it from our lower elevation. Very exciting! The 'boarders and skiers are happy as are the towns that have ski areas. I am happy to have cool weather.  Here is hoping all is well with you wherever you are.

Happy Quilting!

8 Comments are always welcome:

  3. I'm sure your friend will greatly appreciate that lovely quilt! The bright colours against the black and white are fantastic! I'm doing the Blogger's BOM and, even though it's great, I get antsy each month to do the next block! Thank you for linking up to TGIFF!

  6. I like the quilting pattern. Also glad you are "seeing" some snow. Still way too dry up here in NoCal.
