The last quilt is, no surprise, a scrappy one. This is the one made from Crumb Chaos, aka mile-a-minute (MAM) blocks. I think these blocks were the best thing I learned this year. They are on the My Current Obsession blog. It can sort of be called a Rainbow quilt because the blocks were made for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. It is another cuddle quilt for the hospital.
I quilted it in a meander. These blocks are so freeing in their random piecing. Plus they use up a LOT of scraps! This year I have emptied one large tote of scraps and nearly filled it up again. Time to start over.
Whatever it is named, it is D-O-N-E which is how I like my quilts. Now I can move on to new projects in the New Year. I will be participating in the New FO challenge at Cat Patches. Her button is in the side bar. Laura has talked me into her QAYGQAL. That button is also on my sidebar. It should be a fun year. Join us!
Today I am linking up with TGIFF and tomorrow I will link with the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Thanks to Laura and Andrea for hosting these linky parties this year. It has been a wonderful experience.
See you next year. In the meantime, Happy New Year and Happy Quilting!

ReplyDeleteHi! Greetings from Finland! Your quilts are so fantastic! It's so nice to find other quilters all around the world! www.quiltworld2.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYours, Ulla
I just heard about "crumb" quilt blocks this year and I am so excited to find out more. I kind of save every scrap of fabric so I will have to try something like your quilt here. Very nicely done!!
ReplyDeleteMile a minute blocks...I must learn more about those.
ReplyDeleteI love using scraps...you could almost say all the quilts I have made are scrappy quilts.
Anything too small to still use I put into a pillowcase. When it's full enough it's sewn shut and donated to the local animal shelter for pet beds.
Working right up to the last minute! Good for you! :-)
ReplyDeleteTalk with you tonight.

What a cool finish! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of crumb quilts before. Love it! I'm going to have to learn how to do that. Thanks for linking to TGIFF! Judee.
ReplyDeleteLove your cuddle quilt. Thank you for teaching me about MAM blocks.
ReplyDeleteI joined the NewFO challenge too. So many plans, so few snow days.
Happy New Year!
Susanne
Great quilt! Congratulations on emptying out so many scraps this year. Isn't is fun that they keep coming back though?
ReplyDeleteGood to see another crumb quilt done. Looks good.
