New FOs for February

I put the fabric I bought on sale to good use this month. I made a strip pieced D9P Cuddle quilt. I had so much fun with that that I made two! Here they are fresh out of the dryer:

D9P back

I quilted them both with a grid of wavy lines. The binding is from the main fabric and is secured on the front with a decorative stitch.

The same fabrics were used in both quilts, just in different configurations. I used a total of three yards for the two quilts. These will be donated to LLUMCCH.

The Spring quilt top is finished and ready to go to the long arm quilter. There is no way I am going to attempt to quilt this baby. I have never spent so much time on one project. First the blocks took 12 months for the BOM program and now it has been another two months assembling the blocks. Phew! I am ready to hand it over to someone else. Here is a peek at most of the top. DH had a nard time holding it up and was standing on a step stool. The quilted finish will be better.

Today is link up day with WOW at Esther's Blog and the 2012 New FO Challenge at Cat Patches and Quokka Quilt's TGIFF.  Go over to these sites to see more eye candy.

I hope your Leap Day is a good one. An extra day for quilting, or photography, or knitting, or whatever. Enjoy!
