In January, I signed up online for the BOM group with Quilters Club of America. However, I didn't like the January block, so the whole idea went out of my head. Last week I looked again at the BOM group and found that February and March had some nice blocks to try. It is always a challenge for me to do blocks but I thought I needed to perfect my seams and points and things. I tried adjusting my needle position because my 1/4" seams were not good. It worked!
For February, here is the Love in the Mist block from Quilter's Cache:
Excuse the poor photo. Also you might notice some puckering in some squares. That is because I ignored the instruction that said " trim to 3 1/2" if needed. Note to self, do not ignore any part of the instructions!
I used fabrics like the pattern showed. The light blue would look like faded chambray in an overall quilt. As you probably know, Marcia Hohn shows a full quilt along with the block pattern. Quilter's Cache is such a treaure trove of inspiration.
Next, the Rocky Road to Dublin is for March.
This is also from Quilter's Cache and a real challenge for me. I like it though.
Also for March, I selected this Irish Chain pattern from McCall's that I have been saving for a long time.
I like this pattern and I followed the instructions as well as adjusted the needle position. I prefer the strip pieced method of doing the four patches but the individual squares may be for better accuracy. Wouldn't this be a nice overall quilt?
Last but not least, I leave you with this. This is not me. Thanks to Kansas City Star Quilt Co.
Today I am linking up with WOW= WIPs on Wednesday at Esther's Blog and Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River. Go over there to see my quilting ideas.
Happy Quilting!

Some great blocks and I particularly like the Rocky Road to Dublin and had a giggle at the cartoon. Dropping by from Freemotion by the River :)
The cartoon made me laugh. I've been doing some knitting myself lately.
Hey Cousin! Your piecing is getting so much better! It pays to pay attention to directions. lol. That's why you let someone else write the directions!
Will be ready to talk on Friday. Meanwhile, we're supposed to get a snowstorm!

Just loved the shamrock fabric in your Irish Chain block... gives me an idea for some of my fabric! - Cheers
Wonderful blocks and cute cartoon! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing all those wonderful blocks!
I really like your Irish chain! The colors are great and I like the idea of having a block in the middle.
